Born and raised in Los Angeles, Timothy Drury has been adding to his resume since his first big break with Don Henley in 1989.
He played keyboards on Henley’s “End of the Innocence” tour and went on to play on the Eagles “Hell Freezes Over” tour from 1994 to 2000. He has also played on solo tours with Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Whitesnake, and Don Felder. Timothy has several co-writes with Don Felder, former guitarist from the Eagles, on his recently released CD. He co-wrote Henley’s “Everything is Different Now”, which was re-released on Henley’s Greatest Hits package, and a song with Stevie Nicks, “That Made Me Stronger”, produced by his old Henley touring mate, Sheryl Crow.
Most recently he has been performing his intermedia shows in the States and abroad, which combine his music performance and his imagery, projected on a fabric “Performance Cube”. He's begun mentoring to young musicians and composers as well; while in Australia, he was asked to be a guest mentor at The Edge, part of the State Library of Queensland, which provides tools and facilities for young artists to explore creativity across the arts and technology. As part of their Producer's Circle program, Timothy listened to student compositions, and guided the organic, spontaneous creation of a new recording by all the students in attendance.
A short film describing Timothy's career experience, and where he is now.
"I had the pleasure of hosting Timothy as a "performance keynote" at our major creative arts conference in Australia, CreateWorld. It's fair to say that his performance was a highlight of the 3 days. His music was beautifully balanced with still and video imagery that was at times hypnotic and showed a wonderful junction of the visual and musical arts. The performance stimulated a good deal of discussion throughout the conference on the power of digital and analog arts "mash ups".
Stephen Atherton,
Chair, CreateWorld Conference
Queensland College of the Arts
"Timothy is a mature and focused artist who has made his mark in many fields, but especially so in music, where he has established himself as a proven professional, with a great many credits that include significant contributions as keyboardist for Whitesnake, Don Henley, the Eagles, Bryan Adams, Melissa Etheridge and Stevie Nicks."
"The NewMediaConsortium is dedicated to exploring and pushing the boundaries on new media, and it is a landscape we thought we knew well. Timothy’s work shows us how much broader this landscape can be."
"……we offered him the theater space at the Media Lab at MIT to do a premiere live performance of his newest work, as part of our International Summer Conference." …"The faces of the audience made clear the connections between artist, the art, and the viewer…an experience so sublime, it is still talked about among those lucky enough to be in the room for one of these incredible journeys."
"He is a very accomplished photographer…A strikingly creative approach to multimedia."
"He is an artist whose work deserves not just a second look, but a third, a fourth, a fifth. It comes from a depth of passion, of feeling, of understanding that has captured the imaginations of audiences all over the globe."
Dr. Larry Johnson
Chief Executive Officer
NMC
"The event was wonderful. A series of abstract images were assembled in an art house manner…. accompanied by a live performance that seemed to cross the boundaries between formal composition, improvisation and underscoring….this is a real time exhibition, a curated work, a composition and a performance all in one, which is many ways the future, finding ways to become trans-disciplinary artists with something to say that can move people is something that Timothy excels in…"
"…he's part of a living lineage being created right now that seeks a spacious musical language without compromising in technique or narrative…At all times there was a unified artistic vision, somewhat akin to the ethos of ambient jazz"
Dr Kim Cunio
Lecturer; Music Sound and the Moving Image
Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University
"I have to say that Timothy is truly one of the most gifted artists I've ever met, combining not only the ability to express great emotion in his work, but also to do so through a variety of different mediums…truly one of the most gifted artists I've come across. Combine that with the fact he is a genuinely easy going and very affable guy…"
"He is a phenomenal musician, and has played with the biggest bands and artists in the world. But he's not just a performer. He is also a very gifted composer and continues to write exceptional works that deserve a much broader audience."
"...he is able to merge his photography with his musical works into multi-media events that are truly beautiful and quite moving."
"...I feel so strongly about his musical abilities that our company hired him to create our demo videos which have received rave reviews from our customers for the musical and artistic quality…"

"Timothy is a born artist. He is tireless in his dedication to practice and visionary in his execution of projects - and always has been."
…His skill, passion, dedication and tenacity has given us an impressive body of work and secured him a place of trust among the highest echelons
of creators as a composer, songwriter, performer and peer."
"His work in photography and media demonstrates his comprehensive command of articulating a vision."

I wanted to extend a huge thank you to you for so generously giving of yourself at the State Library of Queensland’s, Producer’s Club at the Edge…a space for budding musicians and producers to share ideas and experiences with their peers. To have you there actively participating, sharing, creating and advising was an absolute thrill. To have your input as a professional of many year’s standing was a tremendous adjunct to the ‘sharing’ ethos. One of the participants said to me that "the night was magical... magic happens at The Edge". A warm and sincere thank you, and we hope we see you at The Edge again.

Here are some testimonials written by the students who attended my classes and Cube Performance at Sacramento City College...
“It’s important to note that Timothy Drury’s music contains no words!, which is incredible seeing how his music speaks volumes.”
Mosiah
Student, Sacramento City College
“Timothy Drury is an unbelievably brilliant keyboard and pianist, who with his talent has had the opportunity to tour with artists like the Eagles, Whitesnake, Joe Walsh , and many more. We had the opportunity to have had him come to our class Thursday and the pleasure to have had him perform for us. Prior to both of these events I had no idea who Timothy Drury was but now after both having him talk to us in class and having the chance to watch him perform all I can say is that he is talented beyond compare. Overall, I loved watching him perform at the concert and hearing his music because his way of performing is very captivating to the audience.”

Student, Sacramento City College
“…My biggest take away from this man wasn’t his musical ability, but more so his humbleness and ability to just be in the moment. I had the opportunity to share a class with him and all throughout the class he was just really in the moment and gave some great feedback to the musician’s that were there…

“I would feel so much emotion behind his piano playing, from the movements of his shadow…his whistle song, dedicated to his mother, made me feel what he was feeling during the time he was playing it. Absolutely love his instrumental and photography skills”
Alex

Jesse

“I personally have never heard anyone play a piano like he does and being able to watch him express his vision and passion through photography and music was very humbling”
Yareny
Student, Sacramento City College
“After hearing his short, but amazing piano performance in class, I was immediately interested in Timothy Drury’s work. I was unable to really appreciate the Modern Contemporary guest musician’s in the previous class, and Drury’s musical display was very refreshing to me. There were many exciting, majestic pieces that kept me on the edge of my seat, as well as a few nostalgic and melancholy pieces that had me reminiscing of my childhood. With the two parts intertwined, Drury successfully told a story about the world and his personal life without saying a single word.”
Ellis
Student, Sacramento City College
“I now fully understand why Timothy Drury was able to perform with such legendary musicians and acts after attending his concert. I was amazed by his skill on the keyboard. Using different instrument sounds made the music very interesting to listen to. I have never heard anything quite like it.”
Langston,
Student, Sacramento City College
“I appreciate the skill required to create grandeur- which is the the singularly rare and unique thing I heard in parts of Mr. Drury’s performance…Mr.Drury was also very adept with the audience - a good balance between casual conversation and informative professionalism that demonstrated his expertise. Mr. Drury had a relaxed and casual style of presentation that fostered audience involvement and enjoyment”
Tom
Student, Sacramento City College
“Timothy’s concert Friday night has totally changed my perspective on what a musician can do. It was quite remarkable. I was really impressed. Not only did I get to see him play but he also came into my class. We were all pretty excited to have him there. We got to sing for him and really get to know him.”
